The housing sector urgently needs innovative and efficient solutions. With its urban infill building, NOKERA addresses the shortage of housing in cities, where growing demand continues to outstrip the limited availability of development land.

A new urban building block on just twelve by twelve metres: the EQ12 urban infill building is a cubic six-apartment residential building that integrates seamlessly into existing urban neighbourhoods. Its compact footprint and contemporary design make it an ideal standalone addition to already developed sites. 

Making the most of available land

NOKERA developed the new EQ12 building type together with SWSG and will deliver more than 200 apartments across seven locations in Stuttgart over the coming years. This innovative and scalable urban infill concept will also be made available to other developers. The EQ12 enables attractive, affordable housing to be integrated into urban environments quickly and efficiently.

An innovative approach to residential construction

The EQ12 urban infill building has a footprint of twelve by twelve metres and rises to a height of nine metres across three full storeys. It provides six apartments, optimised for one- and two-person households, and features heat pumps and photovoltaic panels to generate fully renewable, locally produced energy.
